Institution Description:

Ecologic Institute is a private, not-for-profit think tank for applied environmental research, policy analysis, and consultancy with offices in Berlin, Brussels, and Washington DC. Ecologic is active in a broad range of environmental policy issues, with a focus on European policy processes, but also on national, regional, and international levels. As an independent, non-partisan body, it provides applied research and analysis to increase awareness and understanding of the political, economic, and technological forces driving global change. The institute is experienced in mediating and accompanying dialogue processes between a variety of stakeholders. Ecologic is mainly project-financed. The Ecologic team has been involved in numerous projects on water and the development of dissemination and communication tools: for example WaterDiss2.0 (Dissemination and uptake of FP water research results) and REFORM (REstoring rivers FOR effective catchment Management).

Involvement in DEMEAU:

As one of 17 project partners, Ecologic aims to facilitate the use of the technologies developed in the DEMEAU project. Ecologic’s work focuses on the successful dissemination of project results to all relevant stakeholders and the implementation of demonstrations at the utilities. This entails understanding the barriers to the uptake of each technology and facilitating knowledge brokerage and communication targeted at a specific audience.
