The objectives of this work package are:

  • To support the upscaling of Ceramac® to the full-scale level and enable the building of a fullscale Ceramac® reactor
  • To develop, validate and implement innovations in the reactor design

The following tasks (with deliverables and milestones) are planned:

T2.1.1: Optimizing design for full-scale Ceramac®

Supportive design concepts for a full-scale Ceramac® reactor will be developed with a focus on optimizing the construction of the top and bottom plate.

T2.1.2: Validation of the Ceramac® design

An innovative design will be created using hydraulic modelling and constructing and testing the full-scale Ceramac® reactor pilot plant. Validation will be done by CFD modelling and pilot testing. Validations tests will start in February 2013, and a review of the performance and added value of the reactor design will be presented in a report in August 2014.

T2.1.3: Implementing the Ceramac® plant

The innovative reactor design will be implemented in the full-scale Ceramac® plant under construction.

T2.1.4: Report on the Ceramac® plant performance

A report on the performance and added value of the new and patented top and bottom plate construction will be prepared.
